Using a WRX muffler on an STi will drop you about 25hp.   cheesy kiss

It will fit, but you'll be able to feel a drop in power. Nick is right, the stock WRX muffler is an internal mess. I say just check NASIOC for a cheap used catback.

he mentioned he only needs one temporarily until he decides on what exhaust to buy.

make sure to sell that muffler to a guy with a honda.  they're used to shitty sounding exhausts and being from an sti, that would 10hp to their car.

As far as I'm concerned, pipes are pipes. It doesn't matter if they're used, they still serve the same purpose. Its not like buying a used set of brake pads, they're stainless steel piping. Its not generally considered a wear part.

just use common sense when buying one.  Dont buy one that has bent flanges or piping.  other than that, just about anything is good.
