I am bound and determined to do the DIY exhaust porting (port match) on my wrx.  Within the next few weeks i will be pulling the OEM manifold off to check for exhaust leaks (slow spool) and replace gaskets, etc.  While they are off i will be porting the openings on the manifold to match the heads/crosspipe/uppipe etc.

What tools do you recommend?  I've heard a dremmel and a Carbide burr work good, but others say this will take forever.  Is this correct?  What is another cheap / time efficient method?

If you are thinking about buying an STi, why take the time to do this, wait till you get the new ride then do it.  Unless you want to practice before getting the STi that is.
