So my auto dimming rear view mirror decided to self destruct and now is discolored in one part and warped or something because now it looks like a fun house mirror. Does anyone have an extra rear view mirror (I don't need an auto-dimming, a regular mirror will do)?
If not, do yall know if I can just pick up from a new one from an autozone or something, or will I have to go to the dealer?

Mine started doing the same thing in the past week or two, funny. I guess they only have an 8 year life. The top part of it is discolored and funny looking.

no, mine did look like a fun house mirror, but now just has some discolored spots on it and looks like I am looking though a fog. What are yall planning on doing about it. It is just really getting annoying every time I try to look behind me.

So I found a DIY from from a guy who had the same problem. I took the mirror apart, separated the glass and the mirror, cleaned them both and reassembled. Since my compass did not work anyway, I just removed all the wires and stuff from the circuit board in the mirror. Now I have a perfectly usable mirror and did not have to buy a new one.

Thanks for the info! I'm wondering if all of the humidity caused moisture to get into mine?

I know that is not what happened to mine. When I separated the piece of glass from the mirror, the liquid that is supposed to do the auto dimming was just kinda floating around in a glob between the panes, and the fogginess was in between the two panes. It has to be something to do with the auto dimming going bad.
