my fiance and i just bought an 05 legacy gt....and im curious will the stock turbo setup work well with a front mount... i have read it doesnt really work well for the wrx, but she wants a front mount and im trying to find out if its a good idea or not

I don't know of any stock turbo Subaru that would benefit from a FMIC.  Too much volume too fill.

Just like a WRX it will require hacking the front bumper.

Going FMIC will allow you to use all the STI/WRX style turbos, which means you'll need to buy a new turbo to go along with the FMIC piping.  The stock turbo will not be compatible with the FMIC because it (the turbo) has a flange which the stock TMIC bolts to unlike the rubber seal (can't think of the actual name right now) that the WRX/STI uses to mate the turbo to the TMIC.

You can fab a flange to make the stock turbo 'fit' with the FMIC piping, but that would be a waste.  The whole idea of going FMIC in the LGT world is to be able to use better STI/WRX style turbos.
