Stay with Nikon... NO WAIT! If you switch to Cannon, then I could possibly buy your lenses. hmmm Yeah, switch to Cannon. Cannon is the Mac of cameras. I seems like Cannon has become the default camera. It's like, "Hmmm... I'm not sure which camera to get. Oh well, I guess I'll get a Cannon for no apparent reason." SSSSSSSSOOOOOOOOOOO many snapshot users have gone out and bought a Cannon DSLR without 1 bit of research. I'm not saying Cannon is a bad company. Here's another example. I was talking to my buddy last night. He told me that he just bought a Cannon. I asked why a Cannon and not a Nikon. He said that all his other camera are Nikons, but this Cannon has video on it. WTF? I asked him if he was trying to do videography or photography. I told him that I have 3-4 various video cameras for that. I'm not going to use my still camera for taking videos.

Anyway, opinions are like assholes... Everyone has one.

I have a 450D, 50D, and 7D.  They each have their purpose.  I didn't buy the 7D with the intent to EVER shoot video.  However, I just made a video for work with it.  Full 1080 and great sound with an external mic attached.  I won't use it much, but it's a nice feature to have if I need it, and it's a camera I already carry, not an extra.  For perspective, the entire season finale of HOUSE was shot with the Canon 5D Mark ii DSLR.

Canon spends boat loads of money marketing their entry level line of Rebel DSLRs to beginners and "snapshot shooters."  If it helps them fund the development of new features and enhancements for their professional cameras, I'm ALL FOR IT!

I would never buy a Nikon entirely because their Aston Kutcher commercials annoy the heck out of me!   cheesy

But, as we've said before on this forum, all the DSLRs being produced are so good, it comes down to the monkey pushing the shutter button!

Anyone looking for a sweet new camera, I'm putting my pro-sumer level Canon 50D up for sale.  The 50D is Canon's newest camera in the XXD line of semi-pro/advanced cameras.  Purchased new from Adorama on December 30th.  Included is the BG-E2N battery grip and TWO BP-511A Li-on batteries, charger, cables, original box, software, the works.  No lenses are included.  The 50D is an APS-C 1.6x sensor camera, so it accepts both EF and EF-S Canon lenses.  15.1 MegaPixels, 7 frames-per-second, and excellent high-iso handling.  Less than 2500 shots on the shutter.  I love the camera, but I recently upgraded to a 7D for action shooting, so I'm selling the 50D to fund a 5D mark II for portraiture.  No marks or anything on the body, it's PRISTINE.

I paid $1109.85 for everything that I'm including, back in December.  Asking $800 for a camera that will take your photography to a truly new level.

Posting in the for-sale section too, shoot me a PM!

Man if I had a job I'd take that off your hands.  Shot a wedding recently...though I was not the official photog, I took a lot of time taking pictures since my significant other was not there Sad  Shot with a friend's Canon T1i and the stock lens, along with a Speedlite 420EX

Shot some electrical storms in my backyard too.  Shot with my Rebel XT and the stock lens

And some of the Subaru Challenge, shot with the Rebel XT and a 75-300mm USM lens

Fun tilt-shift, Elliot  cool Good work on it.

The exif for the rig shot was:

Camera: Canon EOS 7D
Lens: Canon EF-S 17-55 IS USM
Focal Length: 17mm
F number: 16
Exposure time: 3.2 seconds
ISO: 100

I also had 2 two-stop filters on to cut light.  TJ was pushing the car at literally a snail's pace.

Here's the original, unphotoshopped, with the rig in view:
